Teens, like everyone else, gamble for a lot of different reasons. We don’t know all of the reasons, but we know that entertainment, socialization and competition are some of the biggest.
Reasons teens gamble include:

- Socialize with each other (gain attention from peers or peer pressure)2

- Competition, or the action of the game2
- Loneliness, boredom, stress, problems at home or for a way to “pass the time”2
