The California Council on Problem Gambling is non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and one of 36 state affiliates of the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG).
The Council is “gambling neutral,” which means we are neither for nor against legalized gambling. Founded in 1986, we are dedicated to promoting awareness, education, research, prevention and treatment for problem gamblers and their families.
We are funded by voluntary contributions from businesses and other interested parties, like you. We do not receive any State or Federal Funding. We offer our sincerest and most heartfelt thanks to those individuals, businesses and organizations whose continued support is, and has been, so invaluable for our mission.
Our programs and offerings currently include:
- Operating a problem gambling helpline
- Literature distribution
- A speakers bureau
- Clinical training
- Gambling and Law Enforcement Employee Training and
- A responsible gaming certification program for gambling establishments
By donating, you and/or your organization support these programs and others, which provide direct, immediate and greatly needed help to the problem gamblers and their families throughout California.
