  • July 2, 2010: CCPG Awarded Helpline Contract for 2010-2012.
  • June 30, 2010: Riverside County gambling treatment program was a success and adds 18 new California Certified Gambling Counselors (CCGC-I) to the problem gambling helpline provider list.
  • June 11-12, 2010: 24th National Conference on Problem Gambling Prevention, Treatment, Responsible Gaming Research and Recovery in Portland, OR.
  • June 2, 2010: San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino completed staff training for the responsible gaming full certification program for their 4th consecutive year.
  • May 24-27, 2010: Viejas Casino completed staff training for the responsible gaming full certification program for the 4th consecutive year.
  • April 26-29, 2010: Agua Caliente Resort & Casino completed the responsible gaming full certification program for the 2nd year.
  • April 19, 2010: United Auburn Indian Community dba Thunder Valley Resort Casino donated $50,000 to the California Council on Problem Gambling to help the Council continue to assist problem gamblers in the state of California.

  • March 2, 2009: CCPG and Luther Burbank High School hosted a Problem Gambling Awareness Day in conjunction with National Problem Gambling Awareness Week (March 1-7, 2009). CCPG’s Director of Training presented at the high school in Sacramento, California to juniors and seniors to increase awareness of problem gambling among high school students. This was the first time information on problem gambling had been presented to teens in this fashion in California.

  • March 1st - 7th, 2009: National Problem Gambling Awareness Week
  • February 19, 2009: CCPG was an exhibitor at the Senior Health & Safety Fair in Moreno Valley, California, distributing information to seniors about the possible negative affects of gambling.
  • February 9, 2009: CCPG received a special contribution from Viejas Casino, which withheld winnings from a player or players who excluded themselves from further play at the casino. It was the first remittance received from a tribal gaming facility in connection with a self-exclusion program.
  • January 29, 2009: Bruce Roberts, the Executive Director of the California Council on Problem Gambling will speak on “Problem Gambling and Seniors”. CCPG’s Executive Director presented to Senior Protective Services in La Mesa, California, which included many individuals who worked in San Diego law enforcement and health services.
  • December 11, 2008: Chumash Casino began to train staff for the responsible gaming full certification program.
  • December 6, 2008: Annual Membership and Board of Directors Meeting at Viejas Casino in San Diego, CA. New officers and board members were elected.
  • October 24, 2008: CCPG’s Executive Director presented at the 2008 Family Dispute Resolution: Southern Regional Training for the Center for Families, Children & the Courts' Family Dispute Resolution unit about gambling addiction and how it adversely affects the family.
  • October 15, 2008: San Diego interns contract was extended to December 31, 2008, which helps continue with low cost gambling treatment for San Diego County residents.
  • October 7, 2008: Received notice from the Office of Problem Gambling that the executive order from Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has been reinstated and payment of the helpline funding contract begins October 7, 2008.
  • September 26, 2008: San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino completed the “Casino Responsible Gambling Establishment” Full Certification for the 2nd consecutive year.
  • September 19, 2008: Pechanga Resort & Casino completed staff training for the responsible gaming full certification program for their 1st year.
  • August 20, 2008: CCPG hired Jennifer Bouillon, our new Administrative Assistant.
  • August 18, 2008: Pechanga Resort & Casino began to train staff for the responsible gaming full certification program for their 1st year.
  • August 14, 2008: Received a summary of the 2008 National Conference on Problem Gambling evaluations submitted by participants.
  • July 31, 2008: Received notice from the Office of Problem Gambling that executive order from the governor will stop payment on helpline funding contract until further notice.
  • June 4, 2008: Viejas Casino completed the “Casino Responsible Gambling Establishment” Full Certification for the 2nd consecutive year.
