Bruce Roberts
Executive Director

Mr. Roberts is currently serving as the  Executive Director and has previously served two consecutive terms as the Council's Board President.

In these capacities, he is responsible for managing the daily activities of the Council which includes fundraising, community speaking engagements, media requests for information, as well as liaison with state and tribal governments and the gambling industry.

Other responsibilities include direct management of most projects, including the California Problem Gambling Helpline, the California Certified Gambling Counselor training program and the responsible gambling training program for employees of the gambling industry in California.

Prior to his involvement with the Council, Roberts served as Vice President of a national organization dedicated to assisting compulsive gamblers and their families, and has twice been chairperson of its regional operation.

Mr. Roberts is proud of his fourteen-year association with the Orange County Self Help Center, dedicating itself to providing and maintaining a place where twelve step groups of all types may meet and flourish. He has served as an officer and board member every year since 1989,  including four terms as President.
